Length of time to replace a hot water heater

By Emily

My sister who lives in the UP of Michigan with her husband and three boys (18, 8 and 3 years old) had their hot water explode on Saturday, November 20 and was informed it would not be replaced until today, Wednesday, November 24.  The weather conditions are cold, it snowed yesterday…

What is the legal length of time that a landlord can go without replacing a hot water heater in a rented house in Michigan?
