missing rent money order

hi the leaseing company at my apartment say i owe a balance of 500.00 i went to talk with them today and they told me via computer account that a check had bounced in september of 2012  the thing is i dont have a checking account and i pay by money order i dropped both money orders of in there drop box i called the money order company and they said one money order was cashed but the other hasnt the only thing i can think of is that someone in the leasing office stold my money ored and replaced it with a bouced check
