my landlord took my money……

By sheena

I always pay my rent early and I also over pay. I had a credit of 749.00 over so I paid for half the month of feb of 379.00 and owed 274.00. So they were supposed to take that from my credit of 749.00 but they took the whole thing then said i owed a balance of 15.30 I was unaware that I owed anything since my credit covered the balance for the other portion of my rent. So now they say I owe my whole rent for this month. Now of course I have everything doucmented from their office. They print me out ITEMIZED statement every 2 weeks so i have the proof that they stole my money. Should I pursue leagal actions ?…….

If you have everything documented and you did the math correctly, you have the right to pursue legal actions. This can be quite expensive and not worth the amount you are fighting for if you bring it to court. RPA has a complaint center. You can try asking help from them first. Here’s the link: http://www.rentalprotectionagency.com/complaint_center.php. I have used it before and they were very helpful. They got my problem fixed.
