No back door in home just rented

By gracie rose

I just rented a cute older 3 bed. Home in SC. It has a fenced in back yard, but there is no back door. The neighbors just told me that this is not a house because it doesn’t have a back door. It stands alone and looks like a house. I wish it did have a back door, but there are plenty of windows and the price for this house is really affordable. The neighbors also said they couldn’t rent this house as a house because of the fact that it has no back door and the fact that they did means they will have to change lease to apartment or put another door in the house. Is this correct? Thank you- gracie rose
