poor air qualityin 1 bedroom

 we have been in this apartment for five years and in just one of the two bedrooms (the only one we sleep in ) we feel ill every night day  ,and when we awaken

 our landlord has told us they could have a company come in and check the air quality but they also said it was expesive and said we could be charged for  it

canyou please advise us on what rights we have so we can breathe fresh air ???????
