Problem with Security Deposit

By Brian

What are MN state laws requiring a landlord to be availble for a final walk though? I have just recently moved out of a home a rented and the owners did not make themselves available to do a final walk through and had a new tennant move in the day after I moved out. I gave a 90 day notice of intent now they are telling me I will only recieve 100$ back of the 500$ I had given towards the deposit. What are my rights ?

I guess the bottom line is the landlord should do the final inspection and will have to provide you a detailed breakdown of the charges that will be taken out from you deposit. If i may suggest to read your lease agreement since it may vary.
