renewal denied

I have a lease from dic 2008, this was going to be my third year but the building association change and know the send me a letter that says that they are not going to renew my lease and that my lease finish on dic 18/2010, I receive the letter today, dic 9/2010.

Can they do this without any prior notification, is this legal? I just have like 5 days to get a new apt.
