Seperated but still on lease

By Dazed and Confused

I recently seperated from my spouse.  She still lives in the apt in California.  I moved to another state.  The lease ends July 2011.  Am I still obligated to pay my half of the rent through the end of the lease?  Also, what happens to my half of the deposit once the lease is over?

I lived in California and had a similar issue when I lived there, you can be removed from the lease (and make sure u get it in writing) however, both parties have to sign off that u no longer live there, and u do not have to pay ur half, but if she does not pay the whole amount she could be evicted and u would be held responsible, so make sure u have ur name removed from the lease agreement, and u probably wont ever see the deposit
