Shortsale Help

By Adam

Hi Everyone

I am currently renting a condo from a landlord/homeowner. MY lease constanted of an email stating I would stay there 1 year and pay X per month, I never did sign a formal lease agreement

Now  out of know where  5 months in, the landlord is doing a short sale,  and he hasn’t paid rent at all. I am trying to move out but he wants me to pay him an additional $1600 dollars for next month even though I vacating. He knew that he was going to do a short sale but never disclosured this agreement when I moved in.

I am wondering if I have any recourse since the lease agreement never stated anything about a short sale?

Thanks

Adam
