SSD recipient/Rent Due Date doesn’t coinside with check date

By jamarco

I have asked multiple times (landlord/landlord attorney’s) if they could change the date that my rent is due to coinside with when I receive my SSD check.  I receive my check every 2nd Weds of the month (SSD already said they can not change this date).  My rent is always due on the 1st of the month; therefore my rent is always late and I always incur late fee (now the late fee is 10% of my total rent).  When I get behind and can’t pay the full amount they then send me to eviction court which adds on almost $500 more of fees.  I can’t seem to ever get caught up and I have no where else to go.  As a disability recipient do I have any rights to have some adjustments made to this situation?  I’ve even asked them if they have a low-income 1 bdrm apt in the complex and they say no
