State Law Mandating Carpet Replacement

     Searching if there is a MN Sate Law mandating carpet replacement in rental properties every so many years.

No such law is on the books. I’m assuming that you either want new carpet installed and are hoping for a law to back you up or that the landlord is attempting to charge your security deposit for carpet replacement due to a law that he says requires it.

Either way, there is no law that requires a landlord to replace carpet after any amount of years. Carpet is a cosmetic item and not a requirement, thus there is no law to regulate cosmetic carpet replacement.
