Subleased no contract, can ex-rommates sue me

By Mel

I moved into a house with two friends, they were both on the lease with the landlord I wasnt. I still paid the deposit, but never signed anything at all. All my transaction were done with cash because they did not want to the landlord to know I was staying there. After 5 months I could not handle living there, I gave 30 day notice, payed the pro-rated share, and moved out. Now I am being served for small claims court, saying I owe bill money and a $500 cleaning fee. The roommates not thte landlord are the ones suing me. I never signed anything, do they have a case against me?
