Bed Bug treatment

I was happy after seeing the website, I have a problem with my landlord the issue is

There was a bed bug treatment done in november when i joined my friends room as a room partner and submitted required documents for adding me into the lease,they have enquired from my previous lease owener in seattle and he reported that there was a bedbug treatment done after i left that appartement ,so now my lanlord i asking me to pay 450$ for the treatment saying bed bugs has come into the house because of me but the actual thing is i went to India after vacating the appartement in seattle and stayed in india for 3 months and came to NJ for a new project.in this case am i responsible for transfering the bed bugs from seattle to india and from India to new jersey after 3 months ?
 do i need to pay the treatment cost??
