Utility bill question
By Jean
Can a landlord charge me for electric without showing me a bill from the utility company? It is a separate property with it’s own meter.

Your rental agreement should specify which party will be responsible for the utility charges. However, the bill will be the responsibility of the person who applied for service, regardless of any arrangement between the owner and the tenant. Also there must be a proof of how much electricity you used. If he can’t prove how much you used, then he can’t force you to pay it. |
