rental property where landlord puts house for sale

I’m looking for advice on our situation. Our home needs some major plumbing maintenance in which our landlord says that we can’t live there during the repairs. On top of that he has been looking to sell the house. We began on a month to month lease agreement about a year ago. But he mentioned that when we are ready to leave he will sell the house. We are just looking to see how much time he is required to give us to look for other accommodations. Let me know if there are more details that you may need.
