Landlord Owns Contracting Company
By kelly
I am renting a house that is almost 100 years old, a few weeks ago I damaged an interior door. My landlord insisted that it be repaired by a licensed contractor, understandable. He had it repaired by one and gave me a bill for $300 (ridiculous!) then gave me another bill 2 weeks later for $300 more. $600 for a door is ridiculous enough and then I found out that he owns the contracting company that made the repairs. Is this legal?
