Breaking alease wihin 24 hours

By Kristi Graham

I had signed alease on a rental property. Paid first month plus deposit. within 24 hours found that the area was  not a good neighborhood at all. There are drugs, shootings, violence and just not safe all around for myself an my 12 year old son. I called the landlady after moving 3 items in and told her the area was not safe and I could not sty there with my son. She told me she will be charging me rent until it is rented. I turned the keys in on the 3rd as requeste ( The lease is from the 1st) She ha a lady wanting to rent but the lady can not move in until the 19th. Im being charged untill at least the 19th. Is this legal. Is tehre no clause that since she lied about the area safetly for me to break the lease and get my money back? She has the keys. I have no acesss to the property but I am paying rent? Pleaase help with the legalities of this. ~~~ Kristi
