Fridge Repair Needed

I have contacted my landlord twice already.. .yesterday and today about my fridge / freezer not freezing… this has been a problem about two weeks ago, but I thought since it was not freezing, that the plant on top of fridge, was keeping the door from closing completely.

BUT NO>>. it’s the freezer, and she wants me to unpack fridge, cut it off and let it thaw, and see if that works.
I work out of town, therefore, I don’t have time to put everything in the floor on ICE and wait two days to see if this works.
I don’t understand why she want send out someone to look at this OLD REFRIGERATOR ! ! ! 
What else can I do?
