Is a verbal ok when breaking a lease during a short sale?

My landlord informed me 1month ago that she has to let the house go either through foreclosure or short sale.  At the time we agreed that I could move if I found a place.  Now the house has an offer and it is off the market.  I found a new rental and left 3 voicemails and sent 3 emails to my landlord advising her that I will be vacating the premises.  I have received no response.  Is our verbal agreement okay for me to break the lease?  We also did not discuss any amount of notice.  Thanks so much.  Ugh, this is so very stressful:)

What you can do, is to wait for the landlord’s response. Do not break the lease unless the landlord do not contact you back. That might cause a problem, do you still have the move in/out spreadsheet? You might be needing that one, before fully breaking the lease. For any advice you can contact RPA (rental Protection Agency). they have mediators who can best give you advice. :) Goodluck!
