Landlord says cant have basketball goal

By Nick

Hi My name is Nick,

My fiance and I rent a decent 3 bed 2 bath 2 car garage duplex. We pay 875 a month. Her daughters Birthday is today and we got her a real nice basketball goal (Non refundable) and we put it up and the landlord seen it and called and told us we wernt allowed to have basketball goals. I don’t remember anything in our lease stating that we wern’t allowed to have a basketball goal. for 875 a month I should be able to have a basketball goal.

What are my rights, and what can I do about this?

Consider this from your neighbor’s point of view. They pay $875 a month also. They have the right to not have to put up with the repetitive “thud thud thud thud” sound of the basketball. Take it from someone who works a late shift…that is the last thing I want to wake up to!
