i have lived in my apt complex for a year now and just finished my lease 3 moths ago when i finished i had no moving options or money saved at the time to do so so my landlord said he would do a month 2 month contract so that i could find the time and funding to do so this month i was late on the rent and my landlord put a 3 day pay or vacate on the door even though i left him a note and told him i had a family emergency and that i would pay the following week. on the 4th day he stopped by and asked me what my plans where on paying the rent i said i was recieving a lump sum of cash within 48 hrs to pay the rent and late fee’s he responded that he was going to change the locks the next day.

i have no problem paying or relocating but i would like to have the time to do that is this legal to remove me as a tenant or is there a process to this madness?
