Mandatory Cable

By justonequestion

I have recently moved into a new apartment complex. I was told by my leasing office that cable is mandatory in city of weston, Fl. I said that I dont want cable as I only subscribe to internet. But I was told that it was a law in this city to have basic cable (that too for $52) from Advance Cable. This basic cable I could have got on a cheaper rate of $35 elsewhere. To add to it I don’t want cable at all. So, why should I pay. They have mentioned it in the lease.

Please help me regarding the laws about this.
