Move out fees for an eviction?

By Miss G

I was evicted in December.  Recently I received a move out form with me owing 2600 some odd dollars. They contend that every room in the house (including the toilet paper holder in the bathroom) was dirty, and have assessed a $50 charge per room.  They also state that I did not return one of the 3 keys to the apartment.  I contend that the apartment although not broom swept clean, was not dirty- and NO DAMAGES were to the place at all. (except the venitian blinds) What should I do? I also gave them back all three keys at once! I don’t want this to be on my credit forever, but I have no intentionof paying this ridiculous amount!

You need to check your rental agreement. If it is stated there that once you move out you will be charged and if in fact you left the apartment in the condition claimed I’m afraid you need to comply.
