Reported a bedbug and charged 931 $

I live in a Rented Apartment  from last 7 months at The Gardens at Twin Hickory , GA,VA. Last week I found a bedbug and reported  to Apartment office. They responded and  want me to pay 931$ immediately for mandatory treatment. I pay 1200 @ rend for 2bed 2bath there. How am i responsible to pay this amount. I’m single person earning in my home and survie by my Spouse and 2 little kids.

What does your lease say about pests?

Bedbugs are usually no exception to the pest rule. Most lease agreements state something like, the premises was pest free when you moved in and after which you are liable for all costs of pest control.
