retract notice?

By Rachael

Ok, I am on Section 8 in Kentucky. I have lived at my current apartment for 3 years. I have had no complaints posted on me. I recently put in a 45 day notice to move. With section 8 you HAVE to put in the notice before they can start the process. I had a place that I was going to move into. The people in the house decided they didn’t want to go anywhere so that left me stumped. Then my whole break system in my car needed to be replaced, so there went the deposit money that I did have to move. I went to my landlord Monday April 22, 2013. My notice end date is May 15, 2013… She would not let me retract my notice, said that she had the unit promised to someone else, even though there are several other vacancies available on the property. I don’t know what to do, I have NO money, and two small children one 5 and the other just over 1…. My rent is paid in full each month on time, and I just signed another year’s lease right before I put in my notice… Can someone please help me with some advice or something that can legally be done? Also, I have put a call into my landlord’s boss, she did not call me back, if fact had someone else that I DID NOT want to speak with, call me back, and I have put in another call to the lady…. I don’t know what to do. My babies and I can not be homeless because she won’t do this can we? I also believe that I am being discriminated against because I am a single mother, which I have already gotten on the ball for that…. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Thank you…
