Screwed on security deposit

I moved out of my apartment after three years. At the end of the 30 days my exlandlord sends me a letter explaining that I am getting none of my security deposit back. First off, I left the place clean…she claims that it was dirty and gross. Claiming she had to repaint from smoking, which lease never said you could not smoke inside!! Then send me pictures with a time stamp of 2005 on them…I was not loving there then!! I want my money back..and my reputation cleared. Do I take her to small claims court???
