Notice of rent increase and 60 day notice to vacate
By anonymous
My lease is expiring and my contract requires me to give 60 day notice to vacate, but my landlord did not give me the rates for the new term until 64 days before the end of my lease. I had no intentions of moving, but the rates for the new term were 18% higher than they were on my previous contract. I had to find a new place due to the significant increase and was not able to consider all alternatives in 4 days. In someone’s professional opinion, did my landlord provide me ample notice and time to act on the increase in rent condering that I had to give notice to vacate 60 days prior to the end of my contract? Thanks
