paying for new carpet

              when I rented this apartment in march this year, I was very desperate for a place to live.

I was told I would have to pay an extra 50 dollars a month for the new carpet in my apartment that

I haven’t even seen yet.   I have paid 50 dollars a month since march for new carpet that I never

asked for.  I justed needed a place to live at the time.  is this legal.
