Am I obligated to do this?

By Dee

My tenants broke up after a domestic altercation. One gave thiry day notice and moved to another state. She had rented furniture in her parents name. I received a call from the rental company requesting access to the unit to removed the furniture. Her parents left a message on my phone ordering me to let the rental company in to removed the furniture. The remaining tenant is unresponsive. Am I obligated to let the rental company in as she is still technically on the lease?

They might be needing the move in – out inspection sheet. So if you can contact her parents and ask for it, and if they do not have any amount left to be paid, then yes you are accountable of letting them in. You were just told to do so, anything that was damaged will not be accountable to your name. 😉
