My Apartment roof is leaking
I live on the sixth/top floor of an apartment building in the city. A month ago, my roof began leaking a brown substance. I inormed the maintenence department of our apartment day of, and the problem was never repaired. Ants began appearing in the room of the leak and their presence has steadily increased over the past month. This complaint was also filed. Buckets were put down, but regardless, the carpet is destroyed. Today, the roof began leaking in another spot on top of a fire alarm. All six fire alarms in the apartment were going off and could not be disabled without removing the battery. Now, there are five of us living in an apartment without fire alarms. The maintence department was informed of all of this, but made no indication that they would resolve the issue.  The leaks are potentially hazardous to out health, and three of us have become sick (whether this is related, I cannot say). We do not know what to do or whom to contact about this problem. Any advice would be appreciated.
