black mold not getting fixed.

By laresa holleman

I have black mold in my bathroom, and i filed a complaint about it with the landlord over 3 weeks ago. The maintence man just made it in  monday and hasnt been back since. I have two severe asthmatics, and two severe allergy daughters. I need legal advice on filing a health hazard complaint against my land lord. or at the very least the maintence man.

You should look up your rights as a tenant. You should make the complaint in writting and send it by certified mail so you can get a recite. Once you have done so they have approx. seven days to fix it; it may also be two weeks. Anyway they must begin to fix it or you can terminate your lease, have someone fix it and bill them, and/or seek an attorney to make them fix it.
