Can the Property’s Assistant Manager Say This?

By Lucy

Today I went to the office to resolve an issue with my account, I got there and asked for the leasing agent that I always deal with and is familiar with the issue in question.I was told by the assistant manager that he was gone for the day, then I said I would come back the next day to speak to him.She said I could talk to her instead and I said I preferred him because he knew what was going on.She replied in a very unfriendly manner (after insisting one more time that I told her) " Next time you are going to have to talk to whoever is in the office! "

I felt really bad….like I had my rights violated! I have the right to speak to whoever I want to,and if I don’t want to speak to her I have the right not to!

Am I right?

You are absolutely correct, Lucy. You have the right to talk to whoever you want to talk to. As for that assistant property manager, I think you need to have her reported. What she did was very unprofessional. Maybe she was having a bad day (??) but that doesn’t give her an excuse for acting the way she did.
