Charges before move in cost

By Jereme

I gave my money for an apartment yesterday, after I signed the contract I was told I needed to pay more money another $108.  That was for moving in early, however there are only 2 days left in this month but I’m being charged 4.  Supposedly it doesn’t matter there is only 28 days in February they charge you for 30.  This is a Student Housing for USC.  Is this legal?

When is supposed to be your move in date according to the lease agreement? The landlord may be counting the days to your supposed move in date based on the contract so it really doesn’t matter if there are just 2 days left to this month. I mean, if your movein date is supposed to be on March 3 then he can charge you rent from today to March 2. Before you signed the lease agreement, you could have asked your landlord to change your movein date.
