how much do I charge for credit check

By CNMCLUE

My husband and I are renting out our home.  We had to move due to my husbands job.  How much do I charge for a credit check to prospective renters and where do I get it done?

All states I believe will allow you to at least charge a fee that will cover what you pay for your credit check. I do know some states regulate charging more than that amount so check with your local landlord association or google it. I’ve use a company for years to get my credit check data who also supplies me with the forms you need to legally pull a credit report on someone. I actually get a package that includes credit, eviction record check and criminal record search for $30 but have other options. There’s a tab on this page for tenant screening, just click on it… or here’s the URL: http://www.rentalprotectionagency.com/tenant-screening.php

Good luck!
