I’m paying for 3 units to wash and dry their clothes

By Dano

In the lease it says the utilities for the washer dryer in the basement are split evenly by all three apartments. Well I got my first water bill today and it was 300+110 for sewer!!!!! I looked at the hook ups to the washer and dryer. I found the electric for doth is connected to my electric and I am supplying both hot and cold for the washer. I email the landlord over 3 weeks ago w/no reply. My next step is to send him a cerified letter then if still no response I am gonna disconnect both the waser and dryer by unplugging them and turning the water valves to the washer off and informing the other tennants in my building of what is going on. Any suggestions??

Hmmm. I think it is best that you talk with the other tenants and make a follow up regarding your complaint to your landlord. Also, keep track of your bills and everything that you think that will help you build your case, just in case things get messy.
