Late fees paid, landlord(property manager) claims I didn’t, and didn’t care if I have reciept for it.

I just got a call from my property manager in my building stating that I need to paid my late fees for June, and July. I was surprise because I had already paid it, and have the money order receipt to prove it. She straight told me, to pay it and she didn’t want to see no damn receipt. What can I do in this situation. The two late fees added up to $123. Please help as I don’t want to pay this again, I feel so helpless as I don’t  have any money to hire a lawyer nor would I want to for this amount.

The receipts are concrete proofs that you indeed paid the rent. File a complaint here.http://www.rentalprotectionagency.com/complaint_center.php. An agent should be able to sort things out.
