Noise Complaints that are Ridiculous…Help!

By anonymous

So my boyfriend and I moved into our new Apartment Complex about 4 months ago in WA State. We began renting a 3rd floor apartment (The Top Floor). The Apartment Manager (Landlord) was very nice, polite and helpful. The neighbors are very keep-to-themselves type people, but all over nice as well.

About 4 days ago, I recieved a call from my Landlord while at work. He had left a voicemail saying he had a question and to call him back. Nothing sounded serious or wrong.

I called him back the next day, and from the start of me talking he was incredibly upset. He kept interrupting me over and over. I asked him what was wrong and all he would say is "You should Know.. Talk to [My BF] about it." Then we agreed to have a meeting the next week to talk about it.

I get home and talk to my BF, he says the landlord stopped by the apartment and was clearly upset. The neighbors downstairs had complained about noise levels in our apartment during the hours of 12-3am. They had even gone so far as to call the police! (Or so they say..) SO here’s where my problem comes in… My boyfriend and I both go to bed quite early. We are hardly awake during these times. When we ARE awake we are either out at a friend’s house, or on our laptops in bed.

We recieved a notice stating if the noise level continues we will be Evicted in 10 days… What?! We have no clue what’s going on because the landlord refuses to talk to us, and the aparment below us won’t reply to any of  my letters.

Can they evict us with no proof of noise besides the neighbors below us complaining? Is there anything we can do to stop these complaints that are obviously NOT about our apartment? Help!!
