security deposit rent not returned

By Mike

I lived in an apartment in Indiana for mor that 7 years. I cleaned the apartment thouroughly when I moved out. The landlord is now keeping my security deposit rent foe exessive cleaning due to my smokiing. There was never an anti smoking clause in my lease. my deposit was $575. They claim to have spent over $700 to clean the apartment, and are wanting me to pay them the extra $130.
Also I was late with rent a few times, but they never charged me any late fees at the time. Now that I’ve moved out, they want their late fees paid. Is any of this legal??
