Small nail holes/re-painting

By Small nail holes/re-painting

We just moved out of an old beautiful farm house in Kansas. Left it spotless, however, apparently the landlord felt we were not entitled to hang anything on the walls such as family pictures and such. THIS WAS NOT IN THE LEASE AGREEMENT!  Prior to move out she sent a hand written note saying that she noticed we had hung pictures and wanted us to fill all of the holes prior to move out.  I did so and did a great job I must say.  Then on our last night she had two local gals come to see the place and give an estimate on what it would cost to paint because the "patching looked terrible!" Not that I did a bad job but the patch was white and the walls off white.  The house was "as is when we moved in and only God knows when the last time it was painted…..well she has sent a letter saying that the ladies gave her an estimate for $800 to paint two rooms. Her husband may be able to do it if his back gets better for only $10 an hour.  These were typical small nails for pictures, I patched upon her request and now she is assuming that we will have to pay for re-painting the walls out of our security deposit!  Can she do this?? Please help.  I feel strongly that this is "normal wear and tear".  We took impeccable care of this home and left it clean as a pin when we left. NEVER had any issues in 2 years!
