Water Leaks

By izler

Ok, so recently the pipes above my apartment burst and have created multiple leaks on my ceiling along with the other countertop walls.  I’ve notified maintenance on several occasions about the leaks.  All they have done is come out and cut holes in the ceiling.  They drilled a few holes to get the water to drain into buckets, but they have not replaced any dry wall or done anything else to speed up this process.  It’s been almost 2 weeks now and I have 4 holes in my ceiling and the only time they come out and do anything is when I call and complain.  It is pissing me off.  What can I do, because a lot of water has gotten on some of my electronics and although my laptop still works, and you can’t tell it was sitting in puddles of water, whose to say it doesn’t break because of the water damage.  Is there anyway I can either get out of my lease, have them pay for a new laptop or what can be done to at least get them to fix these leaks.  I still live here and can’t really have people over because it looks like I am living in an abandoned house.
