What rights do I have?

By

We have signed a least to rent a house and were to move in tomorrow. We were at the premises the other day and found a folder lying on the counter the was the owner of the house’s.
When I looked in the folder I found that the owner is a registered sex offender for a violent attempted rape. This was not disclosed to us before we signed the lease agreement.
The owner has keys to the home so can enter the premises.
I do not feel safe to have to live in this house. We called the property management company and they told us we cannot get out of the lease and are responsible for the remainder of the lease even if we do not choose to live there.
Do we have any legal rights in regard to this ? Disclosure? Safety?
