fish out of water??

By fishy

I have a problem I moved into this house 11 months ago. when we moved in they told us they could not afford to replace the shower in the master and to just not use it till they fix it. we didnt say anything for the first 2 months. but the next 8 months we told them at least 2 times a month to replace the shower so we could have a second bathroom like we needed. they still have not fixed the shower. now about 3 weeks ago the bathtub in the main bathroom started draining really slow we thought there must be something in it and tried fixing it ourselves for a week. so we told them last monday that it needs fixed well now it is 12days later and since they found out that it is a pea trap that is rotted away they need to take out the tub to fix the problem. but I do not have a way to have a shower because they havent replaced the shower and the plumber says not to use the bath cuz it is draining under my house and not into the sewer like it needs to. please help me I am so sick of this they have known for almost 2 weeks and i cant shower in my own home!!! i just want to move out but i still have another month on my lease and dont have any money to go elsewhere please tell me how to get them to fix the bathrooms!!!

Wow! Can you say slumlord! This is the kind of landlord horror story that gives the rest of us landlords a bad name. I can’t believe those guys, are they really that pathetic? I suggest that you send a certified notice to them stating that if they do not fix the problem within 3 days of receipt of the letter that you will be paying out of pocket to fix the problem and deduct it from future rents. Or, you can tell them that you are seeking legal help due to the fact that they are not providing a habitable living environment despite numerous chances to resolve a major repair issue.
