is my landlord not suppose to fix problems ?

  I rent and recently there was astorm and my son wakes me up completly drenched and so is his bed which is runined and so icall my land lord and she comes over hours later and tellls me that she will call me in the morning and that she asked if i had renters insurance. I showed her also the leak downstairs which rained on to my tv and wood stand that is now water damaged. I also have no heat since these last two years of living here do to a pron=blem with her central air. She also told me its going to rain that night to put garbage bags doen and said to get a new bed .
