Complaints about us

By danielle

When we first moved in our Landlord said that our downstairs neighbor had a list of complaints against us for being noisy.  Most of the claims we could prove weren’t us.  The landlord had even said that she just likes to complain.  We had recieved a letter from the landlord about the problem (which we could prove wasn’t us) and I recieved a call complaining about noise.  In that time frame I was at work.  We hadn’t heard anything else about the noises since June.  All of a sudden we recieved a letter in the mail saying that if the noises didn’t stop we would have 30 days notice to move out.  First of all we weren’t aware of noises, and don’t know how to stop noises that we aren’t making.  Second of all, the lease we signed said that we would have 60 days notice of eviction.  We pay on time every month and have often said to put our name on the bottom of the list with repairs because we knew the maintenence man had his hands full.  We don’t know what to do.

I am also 6 months pregnant.  I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but I do know that this stress is not good for me, and this letter seemed to come shortly after she had seen me in the hall (with the baby bump).
