I paid but they send me collection

Hello My Name is Nasir YILMAZ 

I rent int 2009 and I extend my rent 11/2009 and I loose my job 12/2009 and and Leave rent 01/2011 1 week after after extending  lease I notice them (I went  office told them I loose job I cant pay ) I had leave othervise I cant pay
I find job in differnt state OHIO and I left keys  them 15/01/2011 and moved to OHIO
They told me I need to pay 3 month othervise they will send me collection and They didint return my deposit also
I paid 3 month and moved OHIO  today I receive mail from collection
so now they talking to I need pay from January to May
I dont know what to do
