Landlord won’t fix central air right

By Tiffiany

My central air has been out for the thrid time this month landlord has had the same company come to fix it but it has never been fix right. Is there a way I can go above her and get another company to do the job and have her pay. I am currently on section 8 and have 6 children, one which is only 10 months. Is there anything I can do myself to correct this problem?

You should get in contact with you state tenant department and have them check it out. In most state they have the landlord tenant act. This act is based on the implied warranty of habitability that states that all landlords are expected to provide places that are basically decent, safe, and sound. Even though you are on section 8 you are still entitled to safe in a clean, safe, and bearable apartment. In some cases you can even have them pay you for living in that unbearable living condition for as long as you have.
