Living with Landlord’s Daughter = Nightmare

By anonymous

I am currently renting a house with 3 other girls since we are still in college. I didn’t know that one of the girl’s parents were the landlords until after I moved in. She told us that it was her mom’s friend’s house. The landlords, aka the girl’s parents, are always at the house. They come over almost every week and do some cleaning and also bring food for the girl. While it’s nice that they clean, it makes me and the other girls in the house uncomfortable. The landlords also keep adding unnecessary furniture to the house without our consent and it makes the house feel like a storage unit. One time I caught the girl’s dad in our house when I was the only one home and I didn’t let him in which means he came in uninvited and unannouced. Isn’t there some sort of law that says landlords need to give renters a notice of when they are coming? I understand that they are her parents but they let themselves in even when their daughter is not here.
