miscommunication leads to predicament

By Jesse

Our landlord sent us an email a month ago letting us know that our lease will be up at the end of june.  So we sent in our 30 day notice of moving and found another place and put down a deposit to move in the 1st of July.  During the packing process, we get another email from our landlord saying that she was mistaken and our lease is actually up at the end of july.  Now we are stuck with paying rent at two different places for july which we really cannot afford.  It was a mistake to trust that email without looking at our lease, but since it was an email (in writing) can we do anything about this?
