no closet doors as promised 2 months ago

By tdaljohn

Closet doors were missing when we rented apt.. Was told would be fixed in 2 or 3 days. Now it’s been 2 months going on 3. Nobody will talk to me face to face.

How sad to hear that from you. Your paying and your landlord’s not doing his part!
I would suggest that you will not pay until he follows through. In the mean time put your money in escrow with the courts because if you don’t he can evict you for non-payment for the rent. He is responsible to make good on his promises! In your state you are under the protection of the Tenants Right. Your right includes the Right to Peace and Quiet,Health and Safety, and the Right to Security. Be sure that having a closet door is a necessity or else the Landlord can file a complaint against you for withholding a rent payment .But still the best thing to do is to go over his place and nicely remind him of his promise you might find out that he’s been having a hard time dealing with problems lately. I hope you’ll get through this. :)
