Short sale approved on out rental home

By Nicole

Someone please gimme some advice PLEASE!   Ok we have been renting a home for the last 2 years and 10 months. The first year was on a lease it has been month to month since.. Started getting foreclosure notices and confronted him, he denied it. After much prodding him he admitted he was going to try and short sale the home..  He sent me and my husband a text this morning letting us know the short sale was approved and will be closing on July 15 2012.  And that the house needs to be vacant by that date..   is this legal when we have been paying out rent.. Or should I say agreed upon rent (last 3months have been deducting our deposit 1/3 off each month). We don’t have anything lined up and don’t know if we can find something so soon…   What is the legal way this should be handled by the landlord and also by ourselves… thanks in advance if you can.
